OPLscience Peer Review Statement

Overview

All White Sheets, case studies, diagnostic protocols, and scientific documents published within the OPLscience Archive undergo formal internal peer review by the OPLscience Research Team. This process ensures that each publication meets the institution’s standards for methodological clarity, reproducibility, diagnostic rigor, and alignment with the established OPLscience scientific canon.

Purpose of Peer Review

The OPLscience peer review process exists to:

▪ Validate the accuracy and reliability of scientific claims.

▪ Ensure all diagnostic procedures are reproducible and clearly documented.

▪ Maintain consistency with Unified Opal Theory, Hydrophane Behavior Science (HBS), and the Mineraloid ID System.

▪ Strengthen the structural integrity of OPLscience’s scientific archive.

Review Team

Peer review is conducted by the OPLscience Research Team:

Neli Crawford- Chief Researcher specializing in hydration behavior, stabilization science, and structural analysis.

Mike Francisco- Research Partner with focus on Visual Structural Analysis (VSA), pattern taxonomy, and mineraloid behavior.

▪ Scott Tomerlin- Research Partner responsible for structural review, diagnostic protocol integrity, and methodological consistency.

Each reviewer evaluates documents independently before collaborative discussion and final approval.

Review Criteria

Publications are assessed according to the following criteria:

▪ Scientific Accuracy: All claims must be supported by empirical observation, controlled testing, or established OPLscience theory.

▪ Reproducibility: Experiments, diagnostics, and measurements must be repeatable under the same conditions.

▪ Structural Consistency: Terminology, taxonomy, and diagnostic language must align with the OPLscience canon.

▪ Clarity and Accessibility: Documents must be written with clear structure, defined terminology, and transparent methodology.

▪ Contribution to the Field: Each publication must meaningfully expand or reinforce the body of knowledge within opal science.

Scope of Peer Review

The peer review process applies to:

▪ White Sheets

▪ Case Studies

▪ Diagnostic Protocols

▪ Mineraloid ID System expansions

▪ Hydrophane Behavior Science (HBS) mathematics

▪ Unified Opal Theory documents

▪ Annual Director’s Letters

▪ Stabilization protocol updates

▪ Visual Structural Analysis (VSA) documentation

Certification Statement

Documents that pass peer review are formally certified as:

“Peer Reviewed by the OPLscience Research Team.”

This certification may appear in document headers, footers, metadata, or publication listings.

Importance to OPLscience

Peer review is foundational to OPLscience’s identity as a scientific institution. It ensures that all published work reflects the rigor, clarity, and reliability expected of a unified research body.

Through this process, OPLscience maintains its commitment to advancing modern opal science with precision, transparency, and institutional integrity.
